I don't really think of Jerry Rockwell so much as a "dulcimer player" as I do as a knowledgeable musician who happens to list the Appalachian dulcimer as his foremost instrument.
Rockwell's first two albums with Mary Ann Samuels (Mountain Dulcimer and Psaltery Instrumentals and Dulcimer Dreams, both on Traditional Records) were straightforward folk offerings, though there were some more unusual pieces on the second album.

Jazz/Jerry Jazz Musician/Miles Davis and the Double Audience, by Martha Bayles
As John Rockwell explains, Glass's "refusal to come to terms with either conventional tonality or its serial extension [...] enraged the contemporary musical establishment, accustomed as it was to equating technical complexity with artistic worth" (114).
Yet as Rockwell notes, "this fascination with the basics was merely a rock extension of the whole lower-Manhattan art world's devotion to minimalism" (235).
To call Aretha Franklin a rock musician, for example, is to ignore the difference between the Chicago blues (the basis of 1960s rock) and fl gospel (the basis of soul).

This is supported be a case where a paralyzed woman in pain had her spinal cord removed so that the brain would stop receiving pain signals through the nervous system; however, the pain did not stop.

After doing some research, I have found out that 1980’s soul musician Rockwell actually changed his name from Kenneth Gordy in order to avoid being associated with his father, Berry Gordy, who founded Motown Records.
Rockwell wanted to make it in the music business on his own talent rather than possibly being accused of nepotism.
It is important that Ashlee realizes that she cannot sing well and that her career reflects poorly on the music industry by harvesting the mentality that, “If she can do it, anyone can.” From now on, it will be hard for any musician of her talent, or lack thereof, to be taken seriously.
