The Rocky Mountains are commonly defined to stretch from the Liard River in British Columbia, down to the Rio Grande in New Mexico.
The younger ranges of the Rocky Mountains uplifted during the late Cretaceous period (140 million-65 million years ago), although some portions of the southern mountains date from uplifts during the Precambrian (3,980 million-600 million years ago).
The mountains' geology is a complex of igneous and metamorphic rock; younger sedimentary rock occurs along the margins of the southern Rocky Mountains, and volcanic rock from the Tertiary (65 million-1.8 million years ago) occurs in the San Juan Mountains and in other areas.

Rocky V is the fifth film in the Rocky film saga.
But after considering the glory in the previous films and realizing that Rocky is a cultural American icon much like Superman, he changed his mind and revised his script to have Rocky live on and be with his son in the final scene.
Anticipated to be one of the big hits of the 1990 holiday season, Rocky V finished a disappointing second in its opening weekend to another film that opened that weekend, Home Alone, and never recovered.

 Rocky V (1990)
That old adage is proved repeatedly throughout Rocky V, the one film in the series that tries harder than any of the others to recapture the magic that made the original Rocky so special.
During the latter film, little Rocky was about six years old; the preceding movies hadn’t been all that strict about their continuity, but at least he’d seemed to age normally during that span and other events passed before we got a look at the older version of the character.
Ultimately, Rocky V is a decent piece of work, but as with the other sequels, it probably will remain most interesting for devoted fans of the series; less interested parties will likely not find a lot to compel them.

ROCKY (5-DISC GIFT SET) + ROCKY ANTHOLOGY - DVDs
The thin line separating the myths of Rocky and Stallone is all but erased in an opening montage that summarizes the pop-cultural baptism of the former in part through clips of the latter doing his own media song-and-dance, and the meta aspects of this second sequel only deepen from there.
Rocky is the escapist ideal: it has one foot in our world and the other in the dreamland of opportunity.
Rocky V represents what is sometimes called "the fallacy of the sequel," in that it invalidates the previous film's happy ending.
