GENEVA, N.Y.-Congressman Rodney Freylinghuysen received the Doctor of Humane Letters degree from Hobart and William Smith Colleges on Sunday, May 13, during the Colleges 2001 commencement celebration at the upstate New York campus.
Freylinghuysen is a 1969 graduate of Hobart College who has remained active at his alma mater since graduating.

 Rodney Frelinghuysen
Rodney P. Frelinghuysen (born April 29, 1946 in New York, New York) has been a Republican member of the United States House of Representatives for the 11th New Jersey since 1995.
In 1983, Frelinghuysen resigned as a freeholder to take a seat in the New Jersey General Assembly (the lower house of the New Jersey Legislature), a position he would hold until elected to the House of Representative in 1994.

Energy Secretary Bill Richardson cut a ribbon February 26, marking the beginning of experimental operations of the National Spherical Torus Experiment (NSTX) at Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL).
Richardson was joined in the ceremony by U.S. Congressmen Rodney P. Freylinghuysen and Rush D. Holt and by the mayors of Plainsboro and Princeton, New Jersey.
NSTX successfully produced its first plasma in the new device on February 12.

Thanks to Senator Robert Torricelli, Representative Rodney Freylinghuysen and others, Congress has directed the USDA Forest Service to update its 1992 New York-New Jersey Highlands Regional Study.
Thanks to the leadership of Rep. Rodney Frelinghuysen (R-11, NJ) and Rep. Marge Roukema (R-5, NJ), the House Subcommittee on Interior Appropriations has approved $9.5 million to help protect NJ Highlands critical treasures.
The Land and Water Conservation Fund would provide $3 million to expand the Wallkill National Wildlife Refuge, while the Forest Legacy Program would provide $5 million to acquire development rights in the Pequannock (Newark) Watershed plus $1.5 million to purchase “Crown Towers,” 600 acres adjacent to Allamuchy State Park in western Morris County.

VVA will intensify its efforts to secure passage of H.R. 639 (for hepatitis C screening, testing, and treatment), sponsored by Rep. Rodney Freylinghuysen (R-N.J.) and S 457 (for hepatitis C service connection) sponsored by Sen. Olympia Snowe (R-Maine) when Congress returns from its recess.
The Senate is in recess until September 4.

Though MacInnes did win as a Democrat in the state's greatest Republican stronghold in a time of Republican state domination in the 90's, chances are Freylinghuysen would have the upperhand here.

In late September, we hosted a joint Refuge Advocacy Workshop in New Jersey with the National Wildlife Refuge Association, in which 45 activists from variety of local organizations participated.
Congressman Rodney Freylinghuysen (R-NJ) participated as a workshop speaker.
We also held an ARK workshop in Texas, in which people attended from five different organizations, and also met with three additional chapters/organizations and visited two refuges.
