  Roedean School, Johannesburg, South Africa
The school’s original principles of Truth, Honour, Freedom, and Courtesy have proved to be a steadfast foundation on which the Roedean of today still flourishes.
Roedean (SA) was founded in 1903 as a sister school to the esteemed Roedean in Brighton, England, which was itself established to provide an education for girls that was equal to that provided by the illustrious English boys’ schools.
When the school’s Centenary was celebrated in 2003, the flags of 47 countries were displayed, representing the different nationalities of pupils attending the school that year.

Documents have revealed for example, Roedean had supplied St Paul’s Girls School, London with an inaccurate and seriously damaging reference of me. Confidential scores from an educational research test my parents should have been made aware of were also submitted, without my parent's consent or knowledge.
In the meantime, I was in a 'no mans land', without a school to return to in the new school year.
Barred from returning to Roedean, unable to apply to another Independent School that would accept me whilst there was a School Appeal in progress, and my parent's not wishing inaccurate, and uncharacteristic school records to follow me throughout my education, I returned to my previous prep school.

But the school still refused to address our concerns, preferring 4 years of costly subterfuge to keep the matter under wraps.
Thirdly, by Roedean finally choosing not to respond to the Heads of Claim, but to tie my parents into accepting a £22K settlement without an explanation we all deserved, and in circumstances that proved not to be in good faith, demonstrated a value system my parents could not dignify.
