  Portrait of a DNA Sequence
"Portrait of a DNA Sequence" by artist Roger Berry of Clarksburg, Calif., is a fusion of metal and glass that accurately depicts the architecture of DNA, or deoxyribonucleic acid.
Berry selected stainless steel to represent the two sugar-phosphate backbones of DNA, which twist to create a spiral, or helical, form.
Berry then met with genetic researchers who described the particular segment of DNA that he would be depicting in the sculpture.

Berry sculpture at Triangle: In recent work at Triangle, Roger Berry pushes not against sculptural tradition or modernist innovation but against a cultural cliche.
Berry studiedly avoids obvious references in his work, even to other sculpture, but like dust particles, associations gather and settle on it anyway.
But Berry's abstraction looks provincial not because it fails to fend off associations but because it sidesteps the critical shift in sculpture of recent decades: away from the human body as sculpture's traditional subject, toward articulation of physical being as we experience it from within.

All the waste, a mixture of mud, algae and antifoul was being washed directly onto the harbour bed, but according to Deputy Berry it's the small boat owners causing all the pollution.
