Lewis Henry Lapham II is pure patrician American, the descendant of wealth, rank and privilege dating back at least to the War of 1812 (a great-great-ever-so-great grandsire, General Henry Dearborn, sacked Toronto in 1813).
Lapham's son Andrew is married to the former prime minister's daughter Caroline.

Roger Dearborn Lapham (6 December 1883 — 16 April 1966) was a shipowner and businessman who was elected Republican mayor of San Francisco from 1944 to 1948.
Lapham championed the employers' position in the 1936 waterfront strike and was elevated as a "business" Mayor by a member of the Police Commission, J. Ward Maillard, after collapse of the Angelo Rossi constituency.
Lapham was blamed for his plan of reducing the principle by spending the increased streetcar incomes during the war years and neglecting upkeep and maintenance of the rolling stock.

Alice Angell was the daughter of Thomas Angell who came to Providence with Roger Williams when still a boy and was one of William's associates at the planting of the settlement around the spring where the Moshassuck emptied into the salt water.
He farmed in Dearborn County, Harrison Township, adjacent to the farms of his brothers Abner and George just south of the Franklin County line, from 1825 until approximately 1868; at which time he moved to Decatur county to live with his son Murray.

Roger L. Herriott, 83, Pittsburg, died Friday, July 7, 2000, in Citizens Memorial Hospital following a short illness.
He was born April 17, 1917, in Mahomet, Ill., to Matt and Mary Hoit Herriott.
