Roger Hunt MBE (born Golborne, Lancashire 20th July 1938) was a footballer whose predatory instincts made him one of the English game's most feared and respected strikers.
Hunt made his debut for Liverpool in 1959 and went on to score 285 goals for the club until his departure in 1969, when he joined Bolton Wanderers.
In 1964 and 1966, Hunt was the top scorer as Liverpool won the League title, and he scored the opening goal in a 2-1 win over Leeds United in 1965 at Wembley as Liverpool won the FA Cup for the first time.

Roger would score every type of goal from the tap in to the thunderous shot and they all went in the same place.

YOURI Djorkaeff arrived at the Reebok in a blaze of glory, the second World Cup winner in history to sign for Wanderers, following in the illustrious footsteps of Roger Hunt - 'Sir' Roger as he was referred to at Burnden Park.
It was September 26, 1970, the venue was Burnden, of course, and for the record Wanderers were beaten 2-0 on their way to being relegated from Division Two.
Hunt, who joined Wanderers from Liverpool for £32,000 in December 1969, went on to make 84 appearances in Bolton colours, scoring 25 goals before retiring in 1972 to concentrate on his family haulage business in Culcheth.
