 Referendum
UKIP Leader Roger Knapman MEP said that the government should now offer British voters their only say to date on whether they wanted full political union with the European Union, or preferred to retreat to the type of free-trade agreement that they voted for in the 1975 referendum.
Mr Knapman said, “We have gone so far down the road towards full political integration that it is only right that voters should have a say, and there is not a better time than this.
Mr Knapman added that the government has suggested a ‘No’ vote would spell the end of British membership of the European Union when it is far from clear that this is true, the consequences of a ‘Yes’ were perfectly clear — an end to Great Britain as an independent, self-governing state.

The Sunday Times said the subterfuge was necessary, claiming that Mr Knapman was unlikely to assist the paper in exposing his political hypocrisy in being leader of an anti-immigration party and at the same time employing immigrant workers.
