Rees is best known for his role as the snobbish Robin Colcord on television's "Cheers" and for playing the title character in the Royal Shakespeare Company's original production of "The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby" in England and on Broadway.
Rees will be in charge of the festival's two performance spaces, its new 550-seat main stage and a smaller, 250-seat theater, both located on the campus of Williams College.
