Nufărul - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
It is also one of the fastest growing areas in Bihor county in terms of development and foreign investment, due to its location on the E60 Budapest-Bucharest highway, the quarter being the first point of contact with Oradea when arriving from Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca and other major Romanian cities.
A piece of trivia used as a sign of Nufărul's rise as an important centre for foreign investment is that the quarter was the location of the second McDonalds (McDrive) restaurant in the Municipality of Oradea.
However, despite having a wide range of infrastructure, Nufărul was, like Rogerius, built-up mainly during Romania's Communist period, which ended in 1989.

 Oradea
Like Rogerius, Nufărul is like a mini-city, with supermarkets, large blocks of flats and more.
Rogerius is located at the western end of the city, near Borş, on the Hungarian border.
It is the city's largest district other than the city centre, and is home to many communist-era housing estates, as well as a large market.

According to Rogerius (Chirurgia, I, 4), “there is no better method of identifying a cranial fracture”.
As indicated in the accompanying text, he will probably trephine, then cleanse the wound (note the cloth held by the assistant) and medicate (note the flask of medicine held by his assistant).
According to him, and also Rogerius (Chirurgia, III, 41-43), after the patient dieted for several days the stone was worked down into the urinary tract.

Early ideas and guesses on Soma and Haoma Already Abraham Rogerius, the 17th century missionary from Holland, was familiar with the word *soma*, as he writes in his Open Deure tot het Verborgen Heydendom (1651) that it means "moon" in the language which he calls "Samscortam" [5].
But it seems that it was only in the second half of the 18th century that Europeans started to gather more detailed informations about Vedic rituals, including the use of Soma (in the meaning of the plant and the inebriating drink created from it).
Rogerius' work was translated into English, German and French and remained for more than a century an important source of knowledge on India and Indian religion.

Ask an Expert: Origin of Lupus
I am told by a medical historian that descriptions that fit symptoms and signs of lupus have appeared in old Indian Vedic literature in BC times.
In more recent times, towards the end of the 12th century, Rogerius Frugardi, a Salernitan surgeon, described facial ulcer in lupus.
Lupus remained mostly associated with ulcerated lesions of legs until the 16th century, after which it was considered primarily a facial lesion.

A Dutch missionary, Abraham Rogerius, functioning from Pulicat between AD 1630 and 1640, assembled in a book whatever he had learnt about Hindu beliefs.
It was full of the same old Christian prattle about demons and devils, but it contained one ‘great discovery” which took Christendom by surprise.
Rogerius ascribes the origin of this light among the Hindus to the revelation of Christ which had penetrated to different nations and peoples of the Indies.

This year the organizing committee had opted to unite the various lectures under a single theme: translating Indian languages into Dutch.
Jos Gommans indicated in his introduction, starting from Abraham Rogerius in the seventeenth century, Dutch translators have helped to shape our dreams and images of India, and improve our understanding of Indian civilization.
Translating is no sinecure, as it requires basic choices regarding methods: should a translator, for instance, aim at a strictly scholarly translation, or should he or she prefer a more literary rendering and try to cater to a broad public?

Several factors sparked a debate over whether or not Erasmus was a homosexual.
The most compelling piece of evidence, according to several gay rights groups, is a collection of nine letters he wrote when he was only twenty-one to a fellow monk named Servatius Rogerius.
In these letters, Erasmus uses the word “love” to describe his affection for Rogerius.
