The Roman Empire is the term conventionally used to describe the Roman state in the centuries following its reorganization under the leadership of Caesar Augustus.
Roman titles of power were adopted by successor states and other entities with imperial pretensions, including the Frankish kingdom, the Holy Roman Empire, the Russian/Kiev dynasties (see czars), and the German Empire (see Kaiser).
As a matter of convenience, the Roman Empire is held to have begun with the constitutional settlement following the Battle of Actium in 31 BC.

Coppola, who also wrote the screenplay, juxtaposes the candied cinematic fluff of Paul's feature debut, Codename: Dragonfly, with the stark and self-indulgent "personal documentary" he incessantly films in his spare time, and he nails both aesthetics as well as the personality types behind each.
Both Coppola siblings, at least at this early stage in their careers, seem to have inherited their father's famous sense of aesthetics and infamous ambition, yet neither seem bothered to carry on his early attention to narrative.
Coppola freely acknowledges all of the cinematic references throughout and his debts to the European filmmakers of the 1960s, but the rest of the track is more sedate than it is instructive.

Apparently everyone else is. Maybe Roman Coppola will become the genius director his father is. But if he wants to prove it, he’s going to have to do a bit better than CQ.
Coppola’s directorial debut is an incredibly layered and stylistic film that, despite a fairly slow paced, almost humdrum approach to character development, still manages at least a decent attempt at meaningful cinema.
It really is. Coppola has really crammed three movies into one, and uses them to tell the story of the one person involved in all three.

When Roman Coppola was getting ready to fly to Luxembourg to shoot his debut feature, "CQ," he assembled all his equipment and personal items on the floor of his apartment.

It's no accident that Coppola, who spent a decade making music videos and commericals -- and comes from a family of filmmakers, actors and musicians -- would choose the loony, adrenaline-inducing world of movie-making as the landscape of his first feature.
