Roman Dirge began his artistic career in 1992, with the first release of Lenore, The Adventures of a Cute Little Dead Girl, in Xenophobe Magazine.
Lenore stomped on to be animated in 26 short episodes by Sony, written, directed and massively overseen by Roman Dirge (Dave Hartman co directed as well).
Roman puts out only one issue of Lenore a year to insure the quality of the book and will continue the series "Until I die, lose my hand, receive a massive brain injury, or just get burnt out on the whole damn thing."

Roman's primary role was thinking up story ideas, popping out such episodes as Rise of The Zit Boy, Megadoomer, The Wettening, Gameslave 2, Bestest Friend (based on an initial idea by Rob Hummel), and The Sad, Sad Tale of Chickenfoot.
Roman's DVD commentary can be heard on Volume 2 and 3 of the series in which he and Jhonen talk about how Roman had almost nothing to do with most of those episodes, since Roman missed out on doing commentary for DVD volume #1, containing the majority of his works.
Roman is currently working on several books, including a new Lenore, Samurai Sloth, The Taxidermy, The Bear and The Belly Lint, It Ate Billy on Christmas (with artist Steven Daily), and I Can Count To Ten.

My advice is that "Roman Dirge" finds someone who can write decent stories for the characters because, as an artist, he shows a lot of promise but sucks big time as a writer.
Dirge has his toungue planted firmly in cheek throughout the proceedings of Noogies, and you'll find maximum enjoyment from it as long as you don't take it seriously.
Dirge does a great job of keeping my interest; lots of nice one-page gags; good use of sarcasm, macabre humor, etc. I would recommend this book to anyone with any edgier sense of humor.

I don't think Dirge actually meant for this to be a literary phenomena and it isn't, but what it is, is a candid, yet quaint protrayal of personified organs.
