Romance is a 1930 film which tells the story of a bishop sharing a cautionary tale with a young man, who is going against the wishes of his family, of the dangers of falling in love with "fallen women," by using a story of naievte from his past.
The movie was adapted by Edwin Justus Mayer and Bess Meredyth from the play by Edward Sheldon.
It was nominated for Academy Awards for Best Actress in a Leading Role (Greta Garbo) and Best Director.

I wanted to see this movie after I saw the trailer, given that it was a movie that had the potential to address a pretty serious issue here in California.
The movie jumps back and forth from the aging Iris, who is beginning to show the signs of Alzheimer's, to the Iris of her youth when she met her husband.
Especially considering that this was a summer movie, which are typically vacuous, this is one of the better examples of summer movies to come out of Hollywood.

The old war movie Battle of the Bulge is a big steaming pile of crap as far as history goes, but this is actually worse.
Finally, only the stars are left, so you know the movie is grinding to a close and you'll just have to endure some pontificating by guys with fake blood coming out of their brave, brave little Hollywood mouths.
