Olga Romanova, a Russian television presenter who was taken off air last week in what she described as censorship of her critical coverage of the activities of high-placed Russian officials, told a news conference on Tuesday that she feared for her life, the RIA-Novosti news agency reports.
Romanova asked her boss to give her a written order not to appear on air, but he refused and put three security guards to the studio door to prevent her from going on air without authorization.
In comments that Romanova gave to Russian press she said that she had a conflict with her superiors over coverage of the story which described a fatal road accident in which a son of the Russian Defense Minister had participated.
