Romneya coulteri is the species, and this plant will give a great show of large exotic white blooms.
Unfortunately Romneya is not all that common in the nursery trade, but well worth while to search for if you are out and about.
Romneya coulteri is also known as 'California Tree Poppy' and is quite tricky to propagate, but once established it will spread to form a large clump.

To the best of my knowledge, the common name for Romneya is the Matilija poppy.
The Matilija Poppy (Romneya) is known by that name and its flowers are white.
