Ronald James "Ron" Brown (born March 31, 1961) is a former American athlete and American football wide receiver, winner of the gold medal in the 4 x 100 metres relay at the 1984 Summer Olympics.
Born in Los Angeles, California, Ron Brown was fourth in 100 m and ran the second leg in the American 4x100 m relay team, which won the gold medal with a new world record of 37.83 at the Olympic Games held in his hometown in 1984.
Brown's players say he doesn't push his faith on anyone, but he's always willing to talk about it if they want, and all players are invited to a pre-game chapel service that Brown often leads, as well as a post game prayer at midfield.

For the sake of the permanent record, and as incredible as it is that I have to say this, I bear no animosity toward Brown as an individual, toward his faith, toward Christianity or his freedom to live his life as he sees fit and as he feels guided by his moral principles.
I would add that Ron Brown shouldn't use the position to advocate homosexuality either, except that there is a myth about homosexuals "recruiting" devotees.
Hiring Ron Brown would send the opposite message -- that a specific mindset, which happens to represent the majority faith in the nation, has been endorsed by the university and that different-thinking people might do well to keep their thoughts to themselves.
