Ron Kass (March 30, 1935 - October 17, 1986) was an American businessman, recording executive, and film producer.
Born Ronald S. Kass in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Kass worked with three recording companies -- MGM, Warner Brothers, and Apple Records -- heading Apple Records, the label set up by The Beatles, in 1968 and 1969.
Kass and Collins were divorced in 1983 but reportedly remained close.

He imparted a clear passion for the communities that grow up around message boards, contrasting them with other forms of online chatter such as blogs and what he terms 'talkbacks' (think - the commentary hanging off a BBC news article posted in by readers).
I think Ron is right when he underlines the differences (and different values) of blogs vs boards.

I would have though Ron Kass would have a built in bias in favour of message board given the organisation you said he founded: BoardTracker.
I will be quite interested in learning what independent impartial Internet/media observers think on this issue.
