Ron Joseph Morel Turcotte (born July 22, 1941 in Drummond, New Brunswick, Canada) is a Hall of Fame thoroughbred race horse jockey.
Ron Turcotte became internationally famous in 1973 when he rode Secretariat to the first Triple Crown win in 25 years.
Ron Turcotte was immediately inducted in the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame in 1979.

RON: He ran so smooth and so effortlessly on the turf that as great as he was on the dirt I am 100% sure that he was a 10 to 15 length better horse on the grass.
RON: I was aware in the Belmont but in the Wood Memorial I was too busy concentrating on why he wouldn't pick up the bit and kept throwing his head in the air everytime I pulled on the reins.
RON: I see General Challenge and Prime Timber as the horses to beat but I think Silverbulletday is still the best three year old in training and would like to see her run against the boys in the Derby.

Turcotte, 59, is a French-Canadian sports hero who rode the world renown racing giant Secretariat to the coveted Triple Crown victory in 1973, meaning, the horse won the Kentucky Derby, the Pimlico Preakness in Maryland and the New York Belmont Stakes.
Ron was one of 12 children in the Turcottte family.
