 La Coquette
The last film that had me this bouleversé was a film Mark Ruffalo starred in, You Can Count on Me.
She had no idea it was me. What came back in her inbox looked something like this: HOLY SHIT BETH, WE WERE ROOMMATES ON BROOME STREET THAT ONE SUMMER IN NYC!
The other night I got an email from lovely Beth, one of my roommates from the summer I interned in New York and was placed in NYU housing with three girls I didn’t know.

 Laramie Movie Scope: Loser
The three roommates, Chris (Thomas Sadoski in his film debut), Adam (Zak Orth of "In and Out") and Noah (Jimmi Simpson in his film debut) are all convincingly repugnant.
The film rates a C. Click here for links to places to buy this movie in video and/or DVD format, the soundtrack, books, even used videos, games and lots of other stuff.
At the center of the story is Paul Tannek (Jason Biggs of "American Pie"), a college student from a small, rural town, who feels very out of place at a big city university.

 Loser
His dorky hat and earnest mannerisms drive his cosmopolitan, ultra-hip roommates crazy, and he finds himself labeled a loser, kicked out of their dorm suite, and living in a room in a veterinary hospital.
LOSER also includes brief cameo appearances by Dan Akroyd, David Spade, Andy Dick, Steven Wright, Andrea Martin, Colleen Camp, and Taylor Negron.

 True Colors (1991)
After reading a few "less than positive" reviews of this film (which I never saw in the cinemas), I wasn't expecting much, except perhaps for a chance to oogle at John Cusack and James Spader, two actors who are very easy on the eyes.
Later they find out they are supposed to be roommates, and end up being best friends.
Given the short length of this film, which is spread over two layers, I did not expect to find significant compression artefacts and true enough they weren't there.

 DVD Review: On The Line
As with several teen films (see also "Loser"), we are presented with a lot of filler and a lot of irritating dialogue between the roommates instead of getting to the point of the picture.
The audio is uninspired; this is another in a long line of films that present people walking around in big cities that remain quiet with the exception of their occasional dialogue.
Colors also looked nice; the film does present Chicago locations fairly well and the natural vivid color palette of the city looks quite good.

Like typical self-help theories, this one enjoys its fifteen minutes of fame, and everyone wants to embrace the fictitious 92-year-old scientist that Jane and her friend created.

On the Line (2001): Lance Bass, Joey Fatone, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Al Green - PopMatters Film Review
For some reason, the roommates are invested in Kev's love life, so they are loudly disappointed in him when he meets the girl of his dreams on the train but doesn’t get her digits, or even her name.
You could make a case that the film itself is following a similar trajectory, as Lance is pursuing his own dream, to produce and star in movies (his company is Freelance Entertainment), a pursuit that will no doubt prove useful once the NSync phenom runs its course.
The most obvious point of On the Line is that it's good to put yourself "on the line," to commit to something even when facing possible disappointment or failure.

The films became so popular, they began to be shown worldwide, and earned Falk six Emmy award nominations (winning three), and nine Golden Globes nominations (winning one).
In the late '80s, Falk began producing all the Columbo films and even took a stab at both directing a couple of episodes and writing one (Columbo: It's All in the Game).

 Monsters At Play: 2LDK Review
In addition, the film contains only two characters, roommates Lana (Maho Nonami) and Nozomi (Eiko Koike).
Both Maho Nonami and Eiko Koike are fantastic in their roles as dueling roommates and are an absolute joy to watch.
Their placid delivery of oh-so-cruel personal barbs, coupled with effective physical comedy, drive this film forward and keep it humorous even during ridiculous acts of violence.

 THE ODD COUPLE II
When you hear the title, "The Odd Couple," the first thing that pops in most people's minds is the popular 1970's TV show that featured Tony Randall and Jack Klugman as the roommates whose contrasting lifestyles and behavior provided much of the show's humor.
Well, they might as well have named this film "The Grumpy Old Odd Couple" because they've just carried what's become their signature character pieces back into this film.
What many don't know is that the TV show was based on the original 1968 film, that itself originated from Neil Simon's award-winning Broadway play.

Reality Bites - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The plot is centered around Lelaina (played by Ryder), an aspiring videographer working on a documentary called Reality Bites about the disenfranchised lives of her friends and roommates (played by Hawke, Garofalo, and Zahn), and to a certain degree, about Lelaina herself.
Reality Bites is a 1994 film written by Helen Childress and featuring the directorial debut of Ben Stiller.
Long-time friend, temporary roommate and angry starving artist Troy (played by Hawke) and Lelaina are attracted to each other, though it's an attraction that neither of them has really acted upon as the film begins, one alcohol-influenced event in the past notwithstanding.

 The Blue Gardenia
The interplay between Norah and her gal-pal roommates (played by Ann Sothern and Jeff Donnell) adds enormously to the film's charm, and her eventual isolation from them -- as she desperately struggles to remember what happened -- contributes greatly to the tension.
Less morally rigorous and fatalistic than Fritz Lang's better-known efforts, Blue Gardenia is essentially a lighter brand of film noir-- using the genre's typically darkened city streets and foreboding sense of dread for a few late-night thrills.
And crooner Nat King Cole even puts in an appearance, stopping by long enough to play the film's lovely theme song.

 Amazon.com: The Blue Gardenia (1953) : Video
BLUE GARDENIA (1953) is Fritz Lang's first film after appearing before the House Un-American Activities Committee after somebody, somehow convinced someone that he was not now and never had been a communist.
The initial set-up with Norah and her roommates was refreshingly original, and Anne Baxter gave a credible performance as the naive Norah.
Adapted from the short story "Gardenia" by Very Caspary, it's more mystery/romance, like Caspary's "Laura", which made a far superior film.

 Hurlyburly . Tucson Weekly . 01-25-99
Hurlyburly is definitely not a visual film; its 122 minutes are filled with almost endless chatter, delivered at cocaine-frenzied pace by Sean Penn, Kevin Spacey, Chazz Palminteri and Garry Shandling.
Penn and Spacey are roommates and a kind of post-ethical odd couple, with Spacey's cold demeanor and imperturbable impeccability igniting Penn's hysterical bundle of male emotions.
What's missing from this little axiom is that ever since the 1920s, film has also been an auditory medium...you can verify this by going to just about any movie and listening for noises, sounds and sweet airs.
