Roscrea Credit Union announced this week that they are pledging €500.00 towards all residential estates/areas in Roscrea to help with the Tidy Towns effort.
The Roscrea Credit Union, Youth Group, “Battle Of The Bands” took place recently and was a tremendous success with over five hundred people attending one of the most successful youth events ever staged in Roscrea.
Roscrea made great strides recently in putting the heritage town firmly on the map with the erection of four unique signs on the north, south, east and west access routes to the town.

Roscrea is part of the area nicknamed, “Ely O’Carroll Country”, named from two Irish families who controlled most of the area until the 17th century, when the English seized their land and wealth.
Roscrea’s most popular attraction is the Roscrea Castle and Damer House, the latter erected within the original castle fortifications in the 18th century.
Roscrea’s location – about halfway between Dublin and Limerick, on the national primary route N7 –; makes it a convenient stop over for those travelling to destinations in the south and southwest from Dublin.

Roscrea signal cabin was constructed to a style which is an adaptation of a design by the Railway Signal Company.
The diagram reveals that this signal cabin is actually identified as Roscrea 'A', and that a second cabin, Roscrea 'B', exists at the Ballybrophy end of the station.
The fixed distant signals at Roscrea are both in the form of a square board bearing a picture of a red fishtailed arm.

Roscrea travelled to Budapest on the weekend of the of the 10th and 11th of June to take part in the Budapest International Invitational Sevens, with club team partaking from all over Europe.
Roscrea have become regular competitors in the Kinsale 7s competition for the last few years and so Jerry Miller dreamed up with the idea of heading abroad for a tournament, with Ronan Buckley helping with the organisation.
Roscrea were now in a commanding position and Carroll eased all remaining tension by rounding off the scoring with a superb break from the Roscrea 22 to ensure the win, 29 - 10.
