Chapter of Rose Croix   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-05)
- Knight of the Rose Croix of H.R.D.M. In 1797, a Chapter of Rose Croix was formed in New York City by a group of Frenchmen, with J. Gourgas as Secretary.
The Chapter of Rose Croix meets once a month, on the first Tuesday, either within the Four Bodies meeting of the Valley of New York, or as a host, and has Reunions once a year, at which the 17th and 18th Degrees are conferred upon candidates in full form and with the dramas.
The main lessons of the Degrees of Chapter of Rose Croix are: that we should have Faith in God, Mankind and Ourselves; and that we should hope for victory over evil and the advancement of Humanity.

Rosicrucian - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
It generally is associated with the symbol of the Rose Cross, which is also found in certain rituals beyond "Craft" or "Blue Lodge" Freemasonry.
What was known in the early 17th century as the "Fraternity of the Rose Cross" seems to have been a number of isolated individuals who held certain views in common, which apparently was their only bond of union.
The Rosicrucians took the union of the rose and the cross for their symbol because this union embodies the meaning of their effort and emphasizes the fact that that effort must be made by all men, as the aim of humanity on earth is to attain divine wisdom.

The pelican feeding her young with her blood is a prominent symbol of the Eighteenth or Rose Croix Degree of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite, and was adopted as such from the fact that the pelican, in ancient Christian art, was considered as the emblem of the Savior.
The Degree is known by various names, such as Sovereign Princes of Rose Croix; Princes of Rose Croix de Heroden; and Knights of the Eagle and Pelican.
The Cross, the Rose, the Pelican, and the Eagle are all important symbols of the Degree; in the explanation of these a full comprehension of the design of the Order is provided.
