		After graduating from Hamilton College in 1823 he clerked in the New York City law office of Col. Charles G. Haines and was admitted to the bar.
		Lewis C. Beck in his report in Mineralogy of New York reported, White’s quarries and kilns are the most numerous, and turn off about six hundred barrels of cement per diem.
