  Roseocactus
Ariocarpus and Roseocactus have similar fruits and means of seed dispersal (fig.12) Descriptions of the fruits of the two groups have been omitted from many works because they are seldom seen.
One of Berger's (1925) two main criteria for establishing Roseocactus was the location of flower origin, but evidently he did not dissect living material I studied living specimens of both groups while in flower and found little difference in the point of origin of the floral organs.
BERGER, A. Roseocactus, a new genus of Cactaceae.

Ironically, because of their slow growth and often fossil like appearance, they are equally strongly disliked by those who have not fallen for their charms and who consider them boring!
Several former genera (most notably Neogomesia, Roseocactus) are included in Ariocarpus, all are extremely slow growing unless grafted.
The plants pictured are quite small, large plants are seen in collections but are rarely offered for sale.

Acknowledgments are made to those who assisted in research or field studies.
A description of the genus and a key to the subgenera and species is followed by a formal taxonomic treatment of the subgenus Roseocactus.
This treatment includes a description, illustrations, a map of authenticated collection sites, citation of common names, a discussion of synonomy and types, and a list of specimens examined of each species and variety.

Here are some facts from the club history.
Before "Discocactus" club was founded, there had been another club called "Roseocactus" with a 30-year record, headed by Mikhail Zhukovsky.
However since 1985 there were no exhibitions organized and all activities were actually stopped.
