Valory joined his brother, Lance, visiting the nuclear-powered attack submarine before the band’s Oct. 23 concert in Hawaii.
This was not Valory’s first time touring a submarine.
Valory felt he had a little in common with the undersea warriors of Los Angeles.

Ross, the only Journeyman born and raised in San Francisco, originally got into music through a friend who suggested he rent a bass guitar and begin playing in a local band.

He is a bass player from Baton Rouge who had a brief stint with Journey when Steve Perry fired Ross Valory.
So there was no hard feelings since Ross did return along with everyone else for the Trial By Fire album.
Ross went with Steve Smith to form The Storm, along with some other old Journey (Gregg and Kevin) guys, along with a guitarist from Santana.

We made the same demand of Deen (Journey's current drummer) and he chose to quit Neal's new band Soul Sirkus, but Neal thought we were beyond our reaches.

I remember the part where you almost got hit by Ross's bass guitar, but managed to dodge it.
Ross was facing Neal and I came from behind him and to his left just as he was pulling his bass back to his left and into my right eye.
