		Round Dance ist eine bunte Mischung aus Spaß, entspannter Atmosphäre, netten Leuten, Bewegung, Musik und Abwechslung.
		Die meisten deutschen Round Dance Clubs sind mit den Square Dance Vereinen zusammen in dem Dachverband EAASDC (European Association of American Square Dancing Clubs e.V.) organisiert und oft gibt es Tanzveranstaltungen, auf denen abwechselnd sowohl Round als auch Square Dance getanzt wird.
		Round Dance ist eine ursprünglich aus Amerika stammende Variante des Gesellschaftstanzes, bei der die Tänze vorchoreographiert werden, damit die Schritte und Figuren möglichst gut zu einem bestimmten Musikstück passen.

		Round dance clubs have a "cuer" who uses a microphone to tell dancers what to do, much like a square dance caller, but instead of a square dance, they are doing a pre-choreographed ballroom dance routine.
		Round dancing uses ballroom steps, but the leader (called the cuer) calls out the steps to be done in a manner similar to the way that a square dance caller tells the square dancers what to do.
		Round dancing is closely associated with square dance, since at many square dances, the will alternate 2 squares with 2 rounds, but there are events where only rounds are done.

	Round Dancing
		Round Dancing is a form of social ballroom dancing in which the steps are choreographed precisely to the music, and those steps are announced by a "cuer," as we dance.
		The presence of the cuer makes a round dance look different than the usual ballroom dance—all the couples are dancing in unison, the choreography can be relatively complex and interesting (since the man doesn't have to think it up as he goes)—but otherwise round dancers are ballroom dancing.
		Round dancing is a perfect activity for improving physical, mental, emotional, social, and even artistic or creative health (our April DRDC article).

		Group dances are danced by groups of people simultaneously, as opposed to individuals dancing alone or individually, and as opposed to couples dancing together but independently of others dancing at the same time, if any.
		The dances are generally, but not always, coordinated or standardized in such a way that all the individuals in the group are dancing the same steps at the same time.
		An exception to this generalization must be pointed out where groups of individuals are dancing independently of each other, but with the purpose of creating a "group" feeling or experience, such as might accompany various forms of ritual dancing.

		At the September 24th meeting of the Oregon Federation of Square and Round Dance Clubs, the 2006-2007 officers were installed, and began another year of service to the Federation.
		The Oregon Federation of Square and Round Dance Clubs would like to thank all of the dancers from around the world who came to Portland to be part of the 54th National Square Dance Convention® on June 22-25, 2005.
		The Oregon Federation of Square and Round Dance Clubs was organized in March of 1956, and now includes almost 100 clubs from across the state of Oregon, the northern edge of California, and the southern edge of Washington.
