Rover 1 is midway through the process affectionately known as "shake and bake." Inside the cocoon formed by the spacecraft backshell and heatshield, the rover, in its cruise stage, was placed on a vibration table and shaken intensely.
Rover 2 is now fully assembled and in its surface configuration - the way it will look when the petals of the lander open to free it to roam the surface of Mars.
While systems engineers are readying the rovers for their expedition, the operations and science teams are preparing themselves for what promises to be a demanding schedule once the science phase of the mission begins.

 Rover 200/400 development story
Rover knew that their rivals had new cars coming, but they were still at least a year away (in the case of the Ford) and as such, in their desired ambition to sit at the top of their given market niche, the company was unchallenged.
Rover were careful to ensure that the £400 million investment in Honda robots installed in their factory were producing the car to the same high standards as the Suzuka factory, and so used forty Honda production engineers who acted as consultants when building up to the beginning of the Rover’s production run.
Following the launch of the booted Rover 400 in April 1990, the next variation on the theme was the three-door version, which to some evoked memories of the short-lived Ford Sierra XR4i in the way that its C-posts were arranged.

Rover 213/216 development story   (Site not responding. Last check: )
During the life of the Rover 200, it would be this overriding impression of quality that would stand the car apart from it’s Austin badged counterparts and ultimately led to the formation of a model strategy built around the Rover marque.
Rover used the opportunity to also make some further reaching changes to the suspension set-up: Honda had originally stated flatly that this was their system and Rover did not need to tamper with it, but they had not figured on the sheer incompetence of the suspension system in it’s initial form.
What Rover found was not so much a problem with the ride quality — that was always going to be compromised by the fact that the suspension had limited travel, but what they — and road testers — found was, disconcertingly, the car would suffer from excessive pitching under acceleration and “corkscrewing” action when cornering.
