The name Roy Rockwood appeared on many series books, but the two most famous were Bomba the Jungle Boy & the Great Marvel Series.
Another aspect of such a collection is a subsidiary group of "Roy Rockwood" tales that are at least tangentially related to the Great Marvel Series.
Still, it seems certain the house name of Roy Rockwood was selected for the Great Marvel stories because of a similarity to the earlier Rockwood series of fantastic voyages.

As Rockwood was widely ride by the authors who first published their own work in the 30's, 40's & 50's, almost all of his work can be seen as influential if not seminal in nature.

Roy Rockwood was one of the principal pseudonyms used by Edward Stratemeyer (1862-1930) and his Stratemeyer Syndicate, an organization established in 1905 which hired writers to complete manuscripts based upon story outlines created by Stratemeyer.
In the Rockwood story, Captain Nemo is replaced by Captain Vindex and the submarine is called the Searcher rather than the Enigma or the Nautilus.

Rockwood was also used as a pseudonym for authors of the "Dave Fearless" series, another one of the Stratemeyer Syndicate's.

So for many years Duffield as the "Roy Rockwood" behind Bomba & behind this one Great Marvel book simply went unheralded, influential though his work had been.
This was almost certainly the inspiration for the later "Roy Rockwood" series.
