BURLINGTON — A $3.85 million investment in the Royal Botanical Gardens that will help it become more stable and attract new customers was announced today by Minister of Culture Caroline Di Cocco, Halton Region Chairman Joyce Savoline and Hamilton Mayor Larry Di Ianni.
The one-time funding will help support the Royal Botanical Gardens’ transformation in key areas including marketing, partnership development and outreach, education and research, and horticulture and conservation.
In September 2004, the Ontario government supported the Gardens by providing $1.87 million in short-term funding, with the condition that it must make significant improvements to its financial systems and controls.
