The Royal Malaysian Air Force (Malay: Tentera Udara DiRaja Malaysia) was formed in 1958 as the Royal Malayan Air Force (Tentera Udara Diraja Persekutuan).
With the formation of Malaysian Federation on September 16th, 1963, the name of the force was changed to "Tentera Udara Diraja Malaysia" or Royal Malaysian Air Force".
After the withdrawal of British military forces from Malaysia and Singapore at the end of 1971, a five-nation agreement between Malaysia, Singapore, New Zealand, Australia, and the United Kingdom was concluded to ensure defense against external aggression.

Born in Sydney, Air Commodore Clark was educated at Parramatta High School before enlisting in the Royal Australian Air Force as a cadet at the Royal Australian Air Force College in 1956.

The Humanitarian Air Hub, managed jointly by WFP, the Royal Malaysian Air Force, the United Nations Humanitarian Air Service and the UN Joint Logistics Centre, served a total 273 incoming and outgoing flights.
