The RMC engineering course was recognized as a qualification to practise the profession; certain Canadian universities and provincial law societies accepted RMC graduates to take degrees or diplomas in a final year.
RMC closed in 1942 but was reopened in 1948 as one of the tri-service Canadian Service Colleges (CSC).

While small compared to the number of officers required by a military that had expanded into the hundreds of thousands by 1918, RMC professionals exercised a disproportionate influence through their involvement in the pre-war militia and, later, in training Canada's wartime military.
After 1952, RMC was the flagship of a triad of military colleges that included Royal Roads in British Columbia (founded 1942) and Collège militaire royale de Saint-Jean.

Royal Roads Military College (RRMC) was one of three Canadian Military Colleges which provided quality academic and military training to officers of the Canadian Forces (CF).
Graduates of Royal Roads, in addition to the rigours of academic discipline were required to meet three other "pillars", those of second language training, physical fitness, and military training.
Royal Roads is no longer a training ground for the Canadian Forces’ officer corps but it is survived by the Royal Military College in Kingston, Ontario which carries on its ethos.

Modern-day officer training at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst is the latest in the lineage of establishments stretching back to the formal establishment of the Royal Military Academy Woolwich in 1741 and the Royal Military College in 1800.
RMC, Sandhurst, closed briefly in 1870 when the system of purchasing commissions was abolished, as the purchase system had been the main reason for attending the RMC - its successful cadets obtained their first commissions free.
New College was completed in 1912, built as a result of the enlargement accompanying the general shake-up accompanying public outcry over the shape of the army after the Boer War.

RMC is situated on Point Frederick, a small peninsula just to the east of the City of Kingston, Ontario, at the junction of Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence River.
Between 1948 and 1995 RMC shared with Royal Roads Military College and College militaire royal de Saint-Jean the responsibility of educating officer cadets.
The Badge of RMC is based on the College's Coat-of-Arms and consists of the crest (the mailed fist) and the motto.

The arms of the Royal Military College (on the left) feature a tripartite shield- a blue section with a scaling ladder leading to a mural crown (military engineering), a red section with crossed swords (infantry), and a gold chief with three grenades (artillary).
In centre is an inescutcheon bearing the Union Jack, honouring the role of the military college and its alumni in defending the country and empire in various wars.
The Royal Roads Military College was also armigerous, but I do not have an image of their arms (the crest is similar to the crests of the other colleges, but with red and white maple leaves).

Served as an intructor at MILORG base Elg in Eggedal when it was attacked by German and Norwegian Nazi troops on the 26th of April 1945.
A lesser, unknown number of officers from the college served with the Norwegian forces in Finnmark, but as opposed to those mentioned above not on the frontline.
