 The Royal New Zealand Defence Force
The Royal New Zealand Defence Force was formed by the final amalgamation on the operational level of the Navy and Army, the Air Force having already been reduced to the Air Corps within the Army, in 2157.
New Zealand was much less badly damaged than Australia and was able to retain a strong central government, mitigating the effects of the economic disaster that followed the war.
New Zealand is now regarded as the paragon of native-settler integration in the Pacific, and Papua’s white Australian dominated state is regarded with suspicion.

Responsibility for the maintenance and repair of the varied new equipments was at first accepted, rather naturally, by the arms and services that used them most, and a number of separate repair organisations began to grow up side by side.
For the Royal Engineers this mostly applied to civil engineering plant and machinery; for the Royal Signals, radio, telegraph and telephone equipment and for the Royal Army Service Corps (the predecessors of the Royal Corps of Transport), all forms of motor transport.

This book, which will be published in June 2003, contains overviews of the Signals orbat at specific times in history; detailed precis of specialist signals units including Commando and Para units; history of 35 Commonwealth and related Signals corps; photos of many rare signal badges; unit histories of regular and TA units.
However, if you are new to Simon Singh's work, this book is richer in detail, better illustrated and, if they followed the TV series, it relates directly to its episodes and cases highlighted in it.

 New Zealand MoD Awards P-3 Systems Upgrade Program To L-3 Communications
L-3 Communications announced Tuesday that the New Zealand Ministry of Defense has selected L-3 Communications Integrated Systems (L-3 IS) for a contract valued at approximately $200 million to upgrade mission and communication-navigation systems for New Zealand's P-3K maritime patrol aircraft.
The upgrades to the six aircraft operated by the Royal New Zealand Air Force will include the replacement of the data management system, radar, electro optics, communications and navigation systems.
The L-3 IS team includes New Zealand companies Safe Air Limited and Beca Applied Technologies.

 BAE Systems Wins Autopilot Contract For New Zealand Air Force P-3 Orions
The contract calls for upgrading existing BAE Systems Digital Autopilot Systems (DAS) with a new flight director and a corresponding upgrade to the system's autopilot control panel.
The autopilot upgrade is part of a larger upgrade program in which L-3 Communications will upgrade cockpit and mission avionics for New Zealand's P-3 fleet.
"We are especially pleased that the Royal New Zealand Air Force - as the launch customer for our Digital Autopilot Systems in 1999 - is incorporating the high-end functionality of our flight director in its autopilot systems," said Brett Hush, director of Military Flight Control Programs for BAE Systems.
