Heather Dale offers a new type of Celtic music for the 21st century: a playful, passionate and fearless blend of tradition and innovation.  Cheerfully discarding the stereotypical limits for both folk singer-songwriters and Celtic balladeers, she fuses traditional stories with a healthy mix of Celtic folk, blues, jazz and world music influences.
These four prominent musicians have, with their visualization, originality, musical intelligence and sparkling performance, brought Tubalaté to the vanguard of brass playing; in recognition of which, they have been appointed as ‘Contemporary Brass Ensemble in Residence’ at the Northern College of Music and ‘International Brass Ensemble in Residence’ at the Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire, St.Petersburg.
She recently had the honour of being invited to sing for the Princess Royal on a visit to Cornwall.  She just returned from London where she has been singing at the Royal Academy and is presently rehearsing for the role of Rosina in Rossini's "Barber of Seville".

According to RNCM figures, the student population is 589, with 420 undergraduates and 169 postgraduates; 49% male, 51% female.
In January 2005, the RNCM was awarded £3.75million by the Higher Education Funding Council for England to become a recognised Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL), the only UK conservatoire to be selected.

She was quite a good Lady Billows at the College in 1997, though I noted at the time in my report to opera-l that she seemed to be showing some strain at the end of the run.
I enjoy my trips to the RNCM for three reasons: the theatre is comfortable, their productions are usually good, and it's nice to try one's hand at talent-spotting.

The College also plans to publish a book of conservations between Corigliano and American scholars, as well as transcripts of the two two-hour pre-concert talks that he will give as part of the festival in December.

This award is in memory of the lyric soprano Elizabeth Harwood (1938-1990) She trained at what was then the Royal Manchester College of Music where she was taught by the redoubtable Elsie Thurston and coached by that great vocal master Frederic Cox who was acutely aware of her stage potential.
The award is valued at £5000 and is open to students leaving the RNCM, to help their continuing studies and in gettting established on the performing platform or stage.
I have attended this award over the past thirty or so years and it is just as true for college leavers setting out into the singing profession.
