Swedish military aviation was born with the introduction to the Army of balloon observation during the late 1800s, and the first powered military aircraft were introduced around 1910.
RSAF air wings, “flottiljer”, of that time, fully operational as well as planned, were numbered “F 1” to “F 18”, and the voluntary wing sent to Finland was called the F 19 Wing.
In this role, the RSAF proved especially useful in the southern parts of Sweden during the last years of the war, when Allied bombing routes were drawn increasingly closer to Swedish air territory.

Research on Transcendental Meditation (TM) at the Swedish Air force
Swedish Air force pilots were examined with a test for selecting combat pilots in order to investigate the effects of Transcendental Meditation (TM).
The same is the experience from the other air forces that now are using this test for selection of combat pilots (for more, see footnote 1).
The Air force wanted to recover these pilots but they had been informed that the disturbances that DMT-Neuman indicated were such that it would take too many years with the best psychotherapy methods to cure them.

General Circulation Models of the Atmosphere
Climate is made by the general circulation of the atmosphere — the global pattern of air movements, with its semi-tropical trade winds, its air masses rising in the tropics to descend farther north, its cyclonic storms that carry energy and moisture through middle latitudes, and so forth.
Under grants from the Weather Bureau, the Navy, and the Air Force, von Neumann assembled a small group of theoretical meteorologists at Princeton's Institute for Advanced Study.
Calculating the climate is a "boundary value" problem, where you define a set of unchanging conditions, the physics of air and sunlight and the geography of mountains and oceans, and compute the unchanging average of the weather that these conditions determine.

NATO Speech: Background briefing - 4 February 2006
However, I think it is worth saying that the Afghan people, according to all the reports that we have always had, since ISAF deployed, have trust and confidence in ISAF and I believe that that will come through in the coming days.
I should also note the very strong contribution that the Scandinavian forces have made to security in Afghanistan, and include not only the NATO Scandinavian countries, but the non-NATO Scandinavian countries as well.
I guess two years ago now, it was clear that our forces needed to be better trained in crowd and riot control and that was done.
