Royal Trux - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Royal Trux was an American rock band, centered upon Neil Michael Hagerty (vocals, guitar) and Jennifer Herrema (vocals).
Royal Trux carried rock's dream through the end of the century, navigating through a depth and breadth of musical, poetic and artistic ideas unparalleled by any in their field.
Royal Trux also released the triple LP "Singles, Live, Unreleased," which aptly summed up the astonishing variance of styles and consistency of quality that Royal Trux had crafted over the preceding decade or so, as well as a pair of EPs and substantial video and webwork.

It retains the Trux's convention of operating on the precipice of complete collapse, full of rowdy, unkempt rock ahn rahl that owes as much to stadium-hogging mega-Americana like Black Oak Arkansas and Grand Funk Railroad as it does to more obvious antecedents such as "Exile On Main St" and The Cramps.

Sweet Sixteen (Virgin), the sixth album from Royal Trux, easily answers the question "How much is too much?" The answer: "This much." Sweet Sixteen showcases Royal Trux's hallmark fascination with glam, '70s RandB, and raw-boned blues, but unlike 1995's wonderful, regally excessive Thank You, it doesn't have any spring in its step.
Thank You was Royal Trux's first release on a major label (the band released their first EP in 1988), and though some fans -- predictably -- called it a sellout, the complete, crisp vision behind its lankiness was nothing short of impressive.
