2 R WELSH - 2nd Battalion The Royal Welsh (The Royal Regiment of Wales) - is an armoured infantry battalinon equipped with the famous WARRIOR AFV and based at Tidworth on Salisbury Plain.
3 R WELSH - 3rd Battalion The Royal Welsh - is the new regiment's Territorial Army (TA) battalion.

 Royal Welch Fusiliers - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Royal Welch Fusiliers was a regiment of the British Army, part of the Prince of Wales' Division.
It is one of the oldest regiments in the regular army, hence the archaic spelling of the word Welch instead of Welsh.
In 2004, it was announced that, as part of the restructuring of the infantry, the Royal Welch Fusiliers would amalgamate with the Royal Regiment of Wales to form a new large regiment, the Royal Welsh.

It was founded in 1949 when it was housed in Cardiff Castle and, in 1974, moved to its purpose-built premises in the Castle Grounds, just a few hundred yards from the city centre.

Brightwells Auctioneers offered 762 Welsh Cobs, Welsh Ponies of Cob-type and Welsh Part-Breds to packed houses on the Royal Welsh Showground over three days when records were sent crashing and the total turnover of £682,630 was almost double the 2001 figure of £358,938 and the average figure of £719 shot up to £1,080.
Estelle was sold locally as a foal to Alan Jones in whose ownership she won the supreme youngstock championship at Lampeter and Glanusk Welsh Breeds Shows in 1999 after which she was sold to Pentrefelin Stud where she produced two fillies and one colt foal.
Welsh Cobs have been bred at Tynewydd Farm, Llandefalle since the famous Brenin Gwalia was born there in 1934 and his descendant Newydd Lloyd is proving to be an exceptional sire.

Welsh youngstock turned up in huge numbers for the Royal Welsh Winter Fair held on the showground, Llanelwedd, Builth Wells on 29 and 30 November.
Mrs Julie Evans’s three-year-old colt Powysvalley Mr Harry, sired by the Royal Welsh Show progeny champion Trevallion Harry was Mrs Anne Vestey of Kentchurch Stud’s choice for section D champion.
The Welsh part-breds were judged by Mrs Sue Keylock of the Cusop and Borderland Studs and champion and reserve Mrs Rosemary Rees’s Small-Land Spellbound and Miss Meinir Evans’s Mallaen Etiquette were both sired by Small-Land Extra Time.

 Lascaux Welsh- Our Mares
Welsh, she produced her first foal (a palomino filly!) in '06 by our palomino C stallion "BJ".
Her dam (who is a full sister to *Menai Contralto above) won at the Royal Welsh prior to being imported to Canada.
Her sire is a prolific winner both in hand and under saddle having won the ridden C class at the Royal Welsh show in the UK.
