In the township the population was spread out with 23.1% under the age of 18, 5.7% from 18 to 24, 23.8% from 25 to 44, 23.9% from 45 to 64, and 23.5% who were 65 years of age or older.
The median income for a household in the township was $33,359, and the median income for a family was $39,000.

 Smith Cemetery #2 - Rubicon Township
A small cemetery located in Rubicon Township's Section 1, this burial ground occupies land now owned by the Sponsler family.
The cemetery was cleaned in the fall of 2001, at which time four tombstones and two field stones were found, the oldest dating from 1848.
This burial site is in Rubicon Township and less than a mile from Macoupin County.
