  Glossary of Terms
Sulfuric acid in the rain water reacts with structural materials such as limestone and marble to form calcium sulfate, which is then washed away in the rain.
The negatively charged oxygen ions formed are deposited on the positively charged aluminum anode, building up a film of controllable thickness which increases the corrosion resistance of the metal.
A deposited layer or incrustation of calcium carbonate or calcium sulfate on the lining of boilers or in water pipes, resulting from prolonged contact with hard water.

An aluminum sulfate solution may be used as a source of Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 and sulfate wherein an aluminum sulfate hydrate having the composition Al.sub.2 (SO.sub.4).sub.3 13-18 H.sub.2 O is dissolved in water to produce a solution containing about 4 to 9 percent by weight Al.sub.2 O.sub.3.
To evaulate the relative effectiveness of rubidium, compared to cesium in the synthesis of an impurity-free faujasite zeolite, a gel was made according to the composition of Example 2, except for direct substitution of 2.8 g.
To further test the effect of the rubidium ion in promoting zeolite M impurity growth, a gel composition of 3.0 Na.sub.2 O:0.2 Rb.sub.2 O:Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 :10 SiO.sub.2 :200 H.sub.2 O was used.

  Aluminum
Aluminium or aluminum (in the U.S. and Canada) is a chemical element in the periodic table with the symbol Al and atomic number 13.
Aluminum is a soft, lightweight and but strong metal with a dull silver-gray appearance, due to a thin layer of oxidation that forms quickly when it is exposed to air and which prevents further corrosion.
Aluminum was, when it was first discovered, extremely difficult to separate from the rocks it was part of and, since the whole of the Earth's aluminum was bound up in the form of compounds, the most difficult metal on earth to get, despite the fact that it is one of the planet's most common.

Precipitate tests are conducted with carbonate, oxalate and sulfate compounds for the existence of barium or strontium ions, using a combination of the unknown with sodium carbonate, sodium oxalate and copper sulfate
The precipitate formed with the use of copper sulfate is hypothesized to be barium sulfate.
The sulfate precipitate fails the solubility test for strontium sulfate, as strontium sulfate is soluble in hydrochloric acid.

Voltage stable nonlinear resistor containing minor amounts of aluminum, boron and selected alkali metal additives - ...
The sintered nonlinear resistor of claim 1, where the alkali metal oxide is rubidium oxide.
The component materials can all be added as metal oxides except for boron, which can be added as boracic acid, H.sub.3 BO.sub.3, and sodium, potassium, rubidium and cesium which can be added as, for example, water soluble, fluorides, sulfates, carbonates, nitrates and preferably chlorides, all dissolved in water.
The aluminum addition may also be in the form of a soluble salt such as Al(NO.sub.3).sub.3, which will decompose upon heating to form Al.sub.2 O.sub.3.

Although rubidium is not considered "essential," some evidence suggests that rubidium may have a role in free radical pathology and serve as a mineral transporter across defective cell membranes, especially in cells associated with aging.
Clinical studies have suggested that rubidium increases memory and mental acuity in the elderly.
