The two tail servos are connected to the receiver as follows: elevator servo to left ruddervator, and the rudder servo to the right ruddervator (check to make sure that each servo is operating in the correct direction.
At this stage, the left rudder stick on your transmitter should move the right ruddervator and the right elevator stick on your transmitter should move the left ruddervator.
If the ruddervators move in the wrong direction, reset the value to zero by pressing the clear key and then pressing the (©) key until the ruddervators move in the appropriate direction.

 R/C Sailplane Glossary
On a v-tail, this is also known as a ruddervator, as they can serve the same purpose.
- Ruddervator is a term that describes a control surface that is combination of rudder and elevator.
Ruddervator is the name of the moving surfaces present on a v-tail plane.

This is shown in Figure 3.1A by the force vector labeled S = E to denote that the sum of the forces (S) comes exclusively from the elevator (E).
The sum of the forces, S, is straight down, with the yaw effects from left and right ruddervators (L and R) exactly canceling.
On the V-tail, the left ruddervator will be up, and the right ruddervator will be up less than the left or perhaps even down depending upon the size of the yoke and rudder displacements.

The more that the ruddervator can assist with pitch and yaw, both in hover, horizontal and vertical flight plus autorotation, the less control that is asked from the rotor.
The front of the ruddervator is associated with the rotor disk azimuth of 315 (approx.) degrees.
The load on a cable is only that of 1 (of 2) ruddervator and the ruddervator is not moved to a fixed stop, where addition loading could be put on the cable.

 ASK DJ Aerotech Question
When you move the ruddervators in opposite directions, the "up" and "down" portions of their lift forces cancel each other, but their sideways lift force components combine to push the tail to one side or the other.
Meanwhile, both ruddervators are trying to push the tail to the left (and therefore push the nose to the right), which results in a "right" rudder command.
The ruddervator that moves "up" often gets an end-plate effect from the other half of the tail, which helps it generate a little more lift.

IDEA; The larger the controllable tail surfaces are (ruddervator only since rudder is fixed?) the less cyclic has to go to the rotor disks to achieve the same results.
This means that the downwash striking the ruddervator from one rotor is very closed to being midway between the downwash pulses from the other rotor.
There could also be an oscillatory rotational force on the tail at 2P since the downwash from the two disks will probably have some rotation and the port disk will have more impact on the port ruddervator there by causing a CCW torque on the tail.

 DJA Chrysalis - Ruddervator Information
For normal turns, you should need little or no rudder deflection after rolling to the desired bank angle, so whether or not you have ruddervator differential should be pretty much irrelevant during the turn.
The reason for ruddervator differential is to balance the forces between the two sides during rudder deflections.
Because the up-moving ruddervator gets an end plate effect from the other tail panel, and the down-moving ruddervator doesn't, for equal deflections the up-moving ruddervator develops more force than the down-moving ruddervator.

Charles River Radio Controllers - V-Tail Adverse Yaw
For may V-tails, the ruddervator on one side (usually the up-going side) gets a bit of an end plate effect from the other stab, while the other ruddervator doesn't get as much benefit.
As a result, for equal angular deflections, one ruddervator (usually the up-going one) makes a little more force than the other ruddervator, which results in a slight pitch change (usually nose-up) whenever you apply rudder.
By adding a little differential we can give the ruddervator that doesn't get the end-plate help (usually the down-going one) just a little more travel, so that the forces developed by the two ruddervators are equal.

 ASK DJ Aerotech Question
Is the direction of movement for left and right ruddervator inputs different in an Inverted to Upright V-Tail or is it just the induced yaw effect that changes with the v-tail inverted ?
A right rudder input would be right ruddervator UP and left ruddervator DOWN.
To make sense of all of this, imagine increasing the dihedral of the tail panels to 90 degrees per side, so the panels are both pointed straight up for an upright V-tail, or straight down for an inverted V-tail.
