RUDRA was formed way back in mid 1992 as a trio, then comprising of Kathi (bass, vocals), Shiva (drums) and Bala (Guitars).
The band played a couple of gigs and took a break for about a year before starting work on their new material.
RUDRA replaced their two guitarists with Selvam (ex-member) and Kannan in Jan 2000.

Started off as Pimp Daddies in 2000, the band is born on a monthly visits to Tanjong Pinang, Indonesia, a town in Bintan.
The band went separate ways and rejoined again in early 2004 with two new members replacing the Indonesians, Saiful on drums and Faizal on lead & rhythm.
The band plays strictly originals, mainly composed by Shac while the music is composed by the rest of the band.

When looking for a band name when we first did a song for a compilation album back in 1992, we came with this name just 2 hours before the recording.

Both records were distributed and sold out within a few months, but musically the recordings was a let-down, and plagued by a singer with a flu which is easy to hear in the recordings.
This was a large step forward for the band, musically and otherwise, and JR are till this day happy with how this record turned out.
With the usual delays of pressing-plants and labels, the record was not completed upon the bands upcoming week-long tour of Germany and Austria in the Easter of 2002.

 Review - Compilation
I didn't know there are so many bands like The Path (the band I reviewed in issue #1, which sounded like bands here that are also Italian) The bands here play rock, modern hardcore, etc of the types that I don't listen to.
Rudra has its roots in India no wonder their songs always revolve around Gods and Godesses (India has truckloads of them!), leaving that aside they are very good musicians and composers.
The bands here are quite amusing with great guitar works, except for a few which is not the type of music I like but that is a small reason for you to not get a copy of this CD.

I have heard some bands here and in Malaysia telling me that the western scene is never interested in the Asian scene as the western scene already have great bands.
I hate it when some bands believe in something (for example snowy mountains and big bad wolves) and they claim that other bands which do not sing about the same thing are posers.
I hate bands who determine the metal fashion by claiming if a band do not have long hair and wear corpse cosmetics, that band is a poser.

The next band that took stage was funky blues band with a lady fronting it.
Rudra's frontman does good interaction with the crowd, intro'd each of their songs, apologized for a minor skip in the start-up, explained his albums availability, freshens the crowd, inviting every fans to come watch them again on June 25th at Planet Paradigm and he speaks in human tone, humble.
Babe-watching was way too distracting to relish upon and they served their second set at half past eight, which this set is a bit longer than the intro and where the crowd was getting into the grooving and moving to the beat.

The frontman of this Canadian band Vince (ex-Infernal Majesty) has described the style of Bloodwurm as "Southern-Fried Voodoo Goth-Rock." Whatever it means, this band has something, and I can't take their music unseriously.
This band comes from Denmark and is probably not so good as the prog metal band with the same name from USA, but worthy of great praise.
This is a Norwegian band with influences from death/thrash to psychedelic rock a la Kyuss/Mindfunk.

Singapore's 4 piece Rudra specialize in a form of music they like to call "Vedic Metal".
I had heard of Rudra, but until now, I had not had the pleasure of putting a CD in the stereo and cranking it.
This is an excellent CD of extreme metal or "Vedic Metal" as Rudra call it.
