		The rufiyah or rufiyaa (MRF) is the (The metal or paper medium of exchange that is presently used) currency of the (A republic on the Maldive Islands; achieved independence from the United Kingdom in 1965) Maldives.
		Bank notes are available for denominations of (2), 5, 10, 20, 50, 100 and 500 rufiyah.
		Before the introduction of the rufiyah, copper coins, copper wire and cowrie shells were used as the currency.
