		The university of Bochum was one of the first to have Bachelor and Master degrees instead of the traditional German Diplom and Magister degree.
		Ruhr University is financed and administered by the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, where it is the only university housing medicine, engineering, humanities, social sciences, theologies, and science at the same time.
		The former prime minister of the State Saxony, Kurt Biedenkopf, was director of the university from 1967 to 1969.
