 Ruislip Gardens tube station
The main line services stopping at Ruislip Gardens ceased in 1958 and the station closed, leaving only the Central Line services in place.
A GWR service out of Paddington, and a Great Central service out of Marylebone, both steam-hauled and meeting at Northolt Junction adjacent to South Ruislip (joint) station, began in 1908, with platforms at Ruislip Gardens.
This would allow through running of Central Line trains onwards from Ruislip Gardens to Uxbridge, but nothing has ever come of these suggestions.

It was opened in May 1908: originally known as Northolt Junction, it became South Ruislip and Northolt Junction from September 1932 and achieved its present name in July 1942.

The track alignments were improved to allow higher speed running at the junction for the services from Marylebone, and the pointwork which had allowed trains from Paddington to call at the westbound Chiltern station platform was removed.

Following the call, Sergeant Neil Anderson from Ruislip police station went to Ruislip Gardens tube station and has now posted crime prevention advice near the cashpoint.
Nigel Burgess, from RAF Northolt, went to the cashpoint machine at Ruislip Gardens Tube station on Friday, October 22, at about 6.30am.
RAF police warned all personnel on the base to be on their guard, and reported the incident to Hillingdon police.
