At the corner of the woods, go through a kissing gate to a display board for Ruislip Woods (of which Bayhurst Woods is a part) then ahead along the edge of the woods for 130 yards to a picnic area (a good spot for a break).
Ruislip Lido was dug in 1811 to feed the Grand Junction Canal and to provide drinking water for Paddington.
Ruislip Woods National Nature Reserve was one of the first natural history reserves in southern England, and is one of only two NNRs in Greater London (the other being Richmond Park).

 Sidcup - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The tallest building in Sidcup is the sixteen-storey office block Marlowe House (1966) next to the railway station.
The old manor house is now used for civil marriage ceremonies.
Sidcup Art College nearby was once attended by Keith Richards of The Rolling Stones; it has recently been demolished to make way for a large modern supermarket.
