	What Is Godly Rulership?
		The desire for rulership over others for all the wrong reasons is an ingrained part of human nature and an all too frequent part of the human experience.
		But that rulership was corrupted by Satan and his demons, and now the world that they control operates according to their twisted, corrupt form of rulership (2Corinthians 4:4; 1John 5:19).
		This is the kind of rulership that Jesus Christ will exercise when He returns to reign on earth as King of kings and Lord of lords (Revelation 17:14; 19:16).

		In verse 17 we find the same term used again: "Obey those who rule [hegeomai] over you, and be submissive, for they watch out for your souls, as those who must give account." These instructions to obey and submit to those who have positions of leadership bring up an interesting concept.

	In Training for Rulership
		And through the consequent begettal of God's Spirit, we become part of His government-in-training—His Kingdom in embryo, which is His Church (I Corinthians 12:13).
		It can be developed only through willing, voluntary choice—by those God calls to be Christians (John 6:44) actively choosing to be led by God's Spirit throughout their mortal lives (Romans 8:14).
		And God has alluded to other positions of rulership for other overcomers who have lived before us and are to be in His Kingdom (Hebrews 11:4-40).
