The Anime Critic - Rurouni Kenshin: Wandering Samurai Review
Rurouni Kenshin is a 1997 TV series that has become quite popular in fansub circles over the past few years, and is also the most often requested title for me to review.
Kenshin hastily convinces her that she is not the one he seeks, for in fact she seeks an imposter who has been using the Battousai name to gain infamy of his own.
Kenshin and Kaoru are two, and the other two are Yahiko, a young street urchin turned swordsman-in-training, and Sanosuke (aka Zanza), a formidable opponent who fights for the sheer fun of it.

Kenshin is the most distinguishable character in the series; he has long red hair and an X shaped scar on his left cheek.
Kenshin is widely known as the past Battousai, and only the most cocky or skilled of warriors will even challenge him to a fight.
Kenshin does have a weakness however, and this is his oath, as he will often not attack his opponents with his full strength.

Rurouni Kenshin The Wandering Samurai - Anime Moon
Rurouni Kenshin and Samurai X (which are *essentially* the same series) tell the story of a legendary assassin called the Hitokiri Battousai or Battousai the Manslayer who fought in the war that led to the Meiji era in Japan.
That assassin is Kenshin Himura (or Himura Kenshin) who refuses to kill and uses a reverse-bladed sword to prevent any harm to be done to any of the opponents that he comes across.
This is probably one of my favorite anime serieses, due to the historical aspects and the honor code that the main characters adhere to.

Rurouni Kenshin (るろうに剣心) is a set of manga and anime series created by artist Nobuhiro Watsuki, set during the early years of the Meiji period in Japan.
