Can a Darwinian be a Christian ? - Michael Ruse
Ruse usefully suggests that a Christian belief is not irreconcilable with a belief in natural selection and Darwinism (though it is, of course, irreconcilable with most Creationist claims).
Ruse suggests that strictly literal interpretation of the Bible is, in fact, uncalled for -- one of the essential points to his approach.
Ruse specifically addresses questions raised by some of the "leading" spokespeople for creation science theories, such as Philip Johnson and Alvin Plantinga, but it seems unlikely they would be convinced by how he frames the arguments.

At the trial, Ruse had testified that creation-science is not science at all.
Ruse told the AAAS audience one reason he's reconsidered his position was meeting Phillip Johnson face to face and participating in a 1992 symposium on Darwinism at Southern Methodist University in Dallas.
Ruse justified his change of heart by tracing a succession of leading Darwinist thinkers, including T. and Julian Huxley, who had viewed evolution as "something akin to a secular religion." At the end of his talk, Ruse opened the meeting for questions.

WASHINGTON -- The British submarine skipper Bill Jewell, 90, who died Aug. 18 in suburban London, had a vital role in one of the more macabre and celebrated clandestine operations of World War II -- using a corpse planted with fake documents to fool Nazi intelligence.
The deceit was intended to distract from the Allies' planned 1943 invasion of Sicily and sweep into Italy -- the quickest way for them to reach Nazi-held Europe from North Africa.
British intelligence formed a ruse: plant on the southwest Spanish coast the body of a sham Royal Marines officer carrying ''invasion" plans for Sardinia and southern Greece.

New Scientist Premium- Reviewed: The Evolution-Creation Struggle by Michael Ruse - Books
THE clash between those who adhere to the scientific theory of evolution and those who believe that the biblical story of the six-day creation is literally true is a struggle between two religions.
So concludes Michael Ruse in his accessible, skilfully written book.
Since the Enlightenment, he says, scientists have offered up an alternative vision of the nature of reality, and those among them who are most opposed to religion can proselytise with as much zeal as an evangelical Christian.

Evolutionary forces have caused us to look to some non-natural ground (e.g., religious grounds) as a principle that serves as objective justification for morality, when in fact objective morality is an illusion.
The biological story is as Ruse argues an essential part of the genesis of our moral beliefs.
