Ruse (Bulgarian: Русе; Turkish: Rusçuk) is the fifth largest city in Bulgaria, having a population of 178,000.
Ruse is situated in the north of the country, at 43° 51′ 23″ N 25° 58′ 14″ E, on the border with Romania, it is the largest Bulgarian port on the Danube and a major cultural centre.
A prominent local landmark is a 210-metre high television tower equipped with an observation deck open to visitors.
