In the last section of the title song, "The Sphere," the heart and mind are united to form a "single, perfect sphere." The song is about the struggle to unite the two, and the album cover represents that struggle.
That spiralling guitar figure that marked the songs introduction returns through various parts of the song, the drumming is solid as you might expect, and it's a winning, charming song that endures repeat play.
Third song 'Jacob's Ladder' is a longer song at over seven minutes in length but no return to the multi-section progressive epics that appeared on albums immediately before this.
