		Man kann über RUSS BALLARD ja denken, was man will, aber dass der Brite den Rock in seinen Adern hat, exzellent singt, eine Hammergitarre spielt, Welthits am Fließband schreibt und total sympathisch wirkt, kann man ihm nicht absprechen.
		RUSS BALLARD und seine Begleitmusiker haben einen verdammt guten Eindruck hinterlassen und das gehalten, was der große Name versprach.

		Uhh.well it is. Russ Ballard’s sentimental tune is kept proggy by Argent’s use of Mellotron, Moog and electric piano as well as by it’s Beatles-esque instrumental bridge and by the band's part harmony vocals.

		The follow up, In Deep (1973), generated an English Top 20 hit with Russ Ballard's "God Gave Rock and Roll To You," but the album failed to create much of a stir in the United States beyond the then-rarified realm of FM radio.

		Paying close attention to the title reveals that this compilation from Argent`s guitarist is not only made up of solo efforts from Ballard, but also his versions of songs made popular by other artists that were written by him.
		Russ Ballard uses a unique approach in most of his songs, whereas his voice creeps up silently to the chorus and then brazenly erupts in full force, releasing a multitude of energy by doing so, and is quite entertaining.

		The pair originally envisioned the group as an outlet for Ballard's non-Argent songwriting output -- their first-ever recording session saw Hello tackle "Can't Let You Go," a Ballard composition which would subsequently give '60s superstar Barry Ryan his first hit of the new decade.
