Russell MacLellan (born 1940) is a Canadian politiican who served as Premier of Nova Scotia from 1997 to 1999.
He was first elected to the Canadian House of Commons in the 1979 federal election and sat as an MP until 1997 when he became leader of the Nova Scotial Liberal Party and premier of the province after Dr. John Savage was forced to resign due to discontent within his party and sagging polls.
Russell MacLellan was elected leader of the Nova Scotia Liberal Party on July 12, 1997.

 Nova Scotia's Bill 68 now faces legal challenge
Former Liberal premier Russell MacLellan agreed this week that the government has opened itself up to legal challenges by introducing the bill in the midst of negotiations with groups directly affected.
MacLellan, now with a Halifax law firm, also noted that cabinet-ordered settlements are not viewed as collective agreements under the Trade Union Act, which calls for a signed deal between two parties.
MacLellan also told the Daily News the Hamm government may have overstepped its bounds in decreeing that the bill cannot be challenged in the courts.
